Throughout the summer, we have special events on the farm that give families the opportunity to come and learn about the farm. In the Fall, we turn the farm into a huge pumpkin patch. We offer hayrides to the field to pick your pumpkin. When you return, visit our display area containing gourds, corn stalks, Indian corn, straw, many fall vegetables, apples, and apple cider. Special school tours, birthday parties, evening hayrides and group tours are available by appointment. Located on a quiet country road just 20 miles from Washington, DC, on farmland that has been in the Dowling family since the early 1940's, Farmhouse Flowers & Plants has grown from a small cutting garden in the spring of 1994 to close to three acres of annual and perennial plants and woody shrubs for cutting. The garden area has increased in size every year in order to meet the demand of local florists and farmers markets we attend. At Farmhouse Flowers & Plants we grow over 75 different varieties of flowers for cutting, as well as annual, perennial and herb plants for your garden.

With over 6,400 square feet of growing area in five heated greenhouses, we are able to grow cut flowers year round. We grow a large assortment of annual, perennial and herb plants that we sell at farmers' markets in the spring and summer. We also grow Amaryllis, Paperwhites, Cyclamen, and Christmas Cactus that are sold at the Dupont Circle Farmers Market during the winter season. Visit us at the Rockville Farmers Market.
