  • The garden season is just beginning. Here are some flowers, herbs and plants to take home for growing or showing!

  • Caprikorn Farms, like many of the vendors at the Rockville Farmers Market, is a family-run affair. These sisters are nieces of the owner, and provided us with a tasting of some wonderful cranberry-horseradish chevre, and a block of garlic cheddar to bring home.

It's officially the best time of the year: Farmers Market season. The Rockville Farmers Market, at the corner of Route 28 and Monroe St, opened May 10 and is open every Saturday from 9am to 1pm, through November 22.

We're glad to see some new faces, like Wee Farm, with jellies and jams and pickles made from homegrown cukes and fruit, and a lot of old favorites, like those in the photos. It was sad to see Farmhouse Flowers, with its lovely fragrant stargazer lilies, close. But there are other vendors with cut flowers and plants for growing at the market this year.

Bring your bags and come over to shop!
