Located a couple of doors down from Taste of Saigon. Recommended by Margie Janney who has had many prints and posters framed there. Coupons are occasionally offered on the Internet or in mailers.
The Bassos recommend the Inn at Vaucluse Spring. From Lil: "It is situated in the Shenendoah Valley, back a dirt road over a railroad track, about an hour's drive. They prepare an optional gourmet meal on Saturday night for guests. This inn is secluded, no televison, or phones in rooms. No t. v. in the whole place. Very quiet, lots of walking space through cow pasture, along streams a pond-- past farms with grazing cows. Jack and I stayed in the Strother Room in the Manor House."

Note from a neighbor about siding repair: If you find a contractor to hang it he may want you to procure the materials. You can order your siding from Lowes (in person & maybe on-line) & they can send it to the nearest store. We were going to hire Roz & Dick Bauer's son-in-law to hang it for us but we found that we could actually hang it ourselves. Be warned, the City of Rockville's Community Enhancement people issued myself & our neighbors a notice for having torn siding & we were given 30 days to repair it or we would be fined $100.
From Bill & Jennie Forehand: We HIGHLY RECOMMEND MINDTE Heating & Air, 301-424-8786. Martha Mindte is our neighbor (and an original owner) on Smallwood, and it would be impossible to get better and quicker service from anyone else. She looks out for the neighbors, and when we have needed their services, the men would stop at our house as their first job. Stop by to meet her when you walk down the hill on Smallwood. (Harold Somers also recommended Mindte, and so did Jean Jennings: "I have used Mindte for heating and A/C for the past 28 years and have received excellent service from them").

from Kathy Hirst: When I bought my home 8 years ago, the home inspector informed me that both my carport slab and front porch slab were hanging in the air supported by nothing--the original dirt fill having been washed away over the years. I got this fixed by a process called concrete slab jacking by a company of this name at 8414 Washington Boulevard, Jessup, MD 20794, 410-792-0055. Basically, what they do is make holes in the slab and pump a concrete slurry in until the space is full.
However, before the slab jacking company could do their work, the edges of the slab have to be sealed or sided so that the pumped in slurry cannot escape. I had this done by Great American Landscapes, 14310 Comus Road, Clarksburg, MD 20871, 301-972-5681. Great American installed timber 'walls' where needed between the slab and the ground. Then Concrete Slab Jacking was able to come in and fill the empty space beneath the slab. It worked for me and I have been very happy and relieved with the results.
Diane K says "We recently used Priddy Clean at 301-530-4264. Ask for the owner, Jerry Priddy, or his son Tony, specifically. They did our chimney cleaning and did a great job. They do vent cleaning as well."

T. Nixon and K. Moran recommend Brothers and Justice: "We used Brothers and Justice to refinish the existing hardwood floors in our house. A very meticulous friend (i.e., hard to please) recommended them to us. Well, their work was FABULOUS. I would strongly recommend them. If their installation of flooring is as good as their repair and refinishing work, you won't go wrong to work with them. They are located in Vienna, Virginia, but didn't seem to mind coming to Rockville. Their number is 703 883-0644.
